BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF on track to flip GBTC in AUM by the end of this month

Updated: Apr 19

GBTC currently holds a lead of approximately $3 billion in assets but BlackRock's IBIT rate of growth suggests the flippening is going to happen before the end of this month. A week ago the gap between the two spot ETFs was approximately $4 billion.

Grayscale's fund begun trading in 2013 only for accredited and institutional investors. In January the fund had $28.6 billion worth of assets but has since suffered large outflows as investors switched to rival ETFs that offer lower fees. In terms of pure Bitcoin holdings GBTC currently has 308,590 coins compared to 272,550 coins held by BlackRock's IBIT.
