Sam Bankman-Fried files to appeal his conviction in New York Court

Two weeks after his sentence to 25 years in prison, the former FTX CEO has filed a notice in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York intending to appeal his conviction on 7 felony counts.

The move came after his attorney stated on the March 28 sentencing hearing that his client planned to appeal the sentence. The filling did not suggest on what grounds SBF would seek an appeal.

The Second Circuit Court of Appeals will now examine the filling and determine whether to affirm the decision to convict or reverse it and set the groundwork for a possible new trial.
